Yogi’s Five Spices

Ginger

Ayurveda has come up with a special blend of 5 herbs that work especially well if you consume them every day, so, in my house, we drink the “original” Yogi Tea, the one that started it all, every day. A blend of five outstanding herbs, it helps warm up the digestive tract, supports digestion and the immune system.

So what are these 5 great spices?

In America, we think of cinnamon, clove, cardamom, black pepper and ginger as tasty spices, but, in Asia, they are respected for their benefits as well.

  • Black pepper helps to detoxify tissues, while cardamom seed helps with healthy digestion.
  • Cloves support digestion.
  • Cinnamon, another warming bark, is traditionally used to promote a balanced nervous system.
  • Ginger, which Ayurveda calls the “universal herb”, has a delicious taste and is a great herb that is used to help support the immune system.

Yogi includes this special 5 spice mixture in almost every one of out tea formulas. Just about everyone gets some extra assistance from these warming treasures.
